Yes the SMC and the PMC4 will allow servo motors to use pulse and direction as well as the analogue outputs. The algorithm for the control of servo motors is far better than that of the stepper motor algorithm, this is due to the way that the systems work. So better results can be obtained by using analogue rather than pulse and direction.
