Although this has been designed as a high precision Motion Controller, the SMC is also capable of general process control and temperature control to name a few.
Why does our new motion controller beat PLC's? That is because it has an Onboard Display, it also has a Built in Keypad, not only that, the SMC Motion Controller can control Stepper Motors and Servo Motors with high accuracy. This is then complimented by High Power Outputs with current limit protection, user configurable I/O and motor drive control signals.
We also listened to our customers and added 2 manual Encoder Inputs for operator adjustments, then keeping the previous communications ports of RS232 and RS485 we added USB for program storage, upload, download, upgrading, backing up. OEM's can email a program to anywhere in the world* and transfer it to the controller with ease. ALL that is STANDARD on the SMC Motion Control.

We also have CAN bus and USB On-The-Go which are available as an optional extra on this unit and can be used to extend the SMC motion controller's capabilities by adding further I/O modules to suit the machine.
